As we mark 20 years of impact, I am filled with deep gratitude and pride for a journey anchored on the timeless values of knowledge, excellence, discipline, the fear of God, and the unwavering pursuit of dreams. Knowledge remains the foundation upon which we build. We have committed ourselves to not only imparting information but to cultivating wisdom, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning in every student who walks through our doors. Excellence has been our standard, not an aspiration. We have continuously challenged ourselves and our students to rise above mediocrity, to strive for the highest quality in academics, character, and service to society. Discipline has guided our path. We believe that true success is born out of consistency, responsibility, and self-control. These principles have shaped individuals who are not only intelligent but also dependable and resilient. The fear of God has been our moral compass. It has instilled in us the values of integrity, humility, and compassion—qualities that define true leadership and meaningful living. Above all, we have encouraged every student to believe in the possibility of their dreams. History and Future
Founding and Early Years (2005–2010)
Unique Steps International School was established in September 2005 with a vision to provide high-quality, holistic education to students in the rapidly growing community of Eliozu Town. Founded by a group of dedicated educators, the school began as a modest institution with just 15 students, 4 teachers, and a handful of support staff.
Initially operating out of a Seven Room Building, Unique Steps International School offered classes from Grade 1 to Grade 7. The school's founder & Proprietress, Pst. and Pst. Mrs. Goodluck and Gladys Ajibolade, emphasized a balanced approach to learning—focusing not just on academics, but also on character development, creativity, and community service.
Growth and Expansion (2010–2015)
By 2010, Unique Steps International School had grown significantly. Responding to increased demand, the school expanded to include secondary education, introducing Secondary Sections (Junior and Senior). New facilities were constructed, including science laboratories, a library, and a multi-purpose sports field.
In 2012, Unique Steps International School was licensed as a government approved institution for Learning and impacting knowledge.
Extracurricular programs also flourished during this period. The Jet Team, Coding Club, and Math club all earned recognition in regional competitions.
Consolidation and Academic Excellence (2015–2020)
The period from 2015 to 2020 marked Unique Steps International School emergence as one of the most respected schools in the region. Enrollment exceeded 250 students, and the teaching staff grew to more than 15 members.
The school consistently recorded high pass rates in national exams, with many students receiving provincial and national awards. In 2018, the school launched a scholarship program to support academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students.
Technological innovation became a key focus, with the introduction of digital classrooms, e-learning platforms, and a revamped ICT curriculum.
Resilience and Innovation (2020–2022)
The COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges for the school, as it did for institutions around the world. Unique Steps International School responded swiftly by transitioning to online learning, training teachers in digital pedagogy, and providing students with access to learning materials from home.
Despite the disruptions, the school maintained high academic standards and supported students’ mental health and well-being through virtual counseling and wellness programs.
Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence (2023–2025)
In recent years, Ujjiques Steps International School has continued to thrive. In 2023, the school celebrated its 18th anniversary with a new motto: "Rooted in Excellence, Growing into the Future." A new arts and culture center was opened, further enriching student life.
By 2025, the school boasts over 600 students, state-of-the-art facilities, and a legacy of academic and extracurricular achievement. Its alumni include doctors, engineers, artists, and entrepreneurs who contribute meaningfully to society.
As Unique Steps International School marks its 20th anniversary, it remains committed to nurturing generations of learners who are curious, compassionate, and courageous.
